Gather data for NGC 3324, Jupiter and NGC 7009
June 10, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - June 12, 2018 @ 10:30 pm
Imaging sessions for NGC 3324 (the Gabriela Mistral Nebula), Jupiter and NGC 7009 (the Saturn Nebula). Focus is good, more consistent when using a Kendrick dew remover around the outside of the RC telescope, closest to the primary mirror. This seems to stabilise any flexure due to heat and cold variation, as well as keeping the primary mirror free from dew! Focusing shifts as dew forms on the secondary mirror, need to consider a secondary mirror heater however power may also be an issue as dew removers inherently use high amperes to generate heat.
